Search Help

Enter the variety name you are searching for. For example use "Sweet 100" instead of "Sweet 100 Tomato". |
| Keyword Search: Search for "Sweet" will return Sweet 100, Sweet Gold, but not Sweetie. |
| Partial Match: Search for "Sweet" will return Sweet 100, Sweet Gold as well as Sweetie. |
| Exact Phrase: Search for "Sweet" will return nothing. Search for "Sweet 100" will return only Sweet 100. |

User Features

You must log-in to use the user features. These options will not show up unless you are logged in. |
| To access your User Page: On the left hand side click 'My User Page'. This will take you to a page where you can see your saved varieties and access your exchange list. |
| To add/modify varieties in your list: Go to the page of the variety you wish to add/modify. Under the rating there is a row of checkboxes (I am Growing this Plant, I Have Seed for this Plant, etc.). Check all that apply and click 'Save'. You will now be able to see this variety on your page. To delete a variety, set all checkboxes to unchecked before saving.

| To search for seeds: On your User Page click on the magnifying glass icon in front of the variety you wish to seach for. This icon will only appear if you have added this variety in your 'want' list (see above).

Why does something with 4 stars show above something with 5 stars in the Top 10?

I am using the Bayesian weighted average system for the Top 10. So something which has 20 votes with an overall rating of 4.9 will show above something with an overall rating of 5 but with only 1 vote. This does not mean that something with a high number of votes will always show above something with a lower number of votes...only if it also has a high rating. The weighted averages are updated every hour.

Adding Plant Names

For now, registered users may add plant names from the bottom of a display category. For example, to add a Patio Tomato you would go to Vegetables->Tomatoes->Patio/Container Tomatoes before you would see a link for adding a plant. Please make sure a plant is in the correct category, is not a duplicate and is spelled correctly, before adding it.
